Based on your specific investor targeting needs, our Raiser search algorithm returns a curated list of financial and strategic investors who are active in a particular industry and who, based on prior investments, have shown interest in companies at a similar stage.

Getting Ready to start your Raiser Search

  1. Start by navigating to the Raiser search page

  2. Company Seeking Investors will be the first field to fill in. If you do not see your target company appear in the search bar, you can request to add it to our database and we'll have it mapped shortly.

Helpful hint : In the meantime, you can base your search around a similar competitor as a proxy.

  3. You'll be asked to include a Primary Competitor in addition to the fundraising company to help find relevant investors in the space

Helpful Hint: If necessary, you can also add more competitors (Secondary competitors, optional) within your search to better target investors who may be interested in your company based on their historical transactions

  4. Enter your Raise Amount.

Helpful Hint: You can also enter an exit amount in the 'Raise Amount' field if you are seeking potential acquirers (once you've done the search, the Strategic Investors tab might also be helpful here)

  5. Input the Revenue if any. If the fundraising company is pre-revenue, you can enter in 0 for LTM Revenue

  6. Choose between the options of looking for with or without grants and debt funding

  7. Once you have fields in all the fields, click Find Investors. By clicking this you're using a Raiser Run.

Maximizing your results

Here's a brief overview of some pro tips to maximize your Raiser investor search results:

  • Click anywhere on an investor to expand the row and reveal more detail on their description, as well as similar precedent transactions specific to your fundraise criteria. Selecting the menu located to the right of a row next to the carat will reveal some helpful shortcuts to view contacts, create notes, and more.

  • Clicking on the button to 'View all investments and acquisitions', highlighted above, will open a window to quickly see more detail on an investor's similar transactions as well as their portfolio

  • Further refine your search results with the "Filters" button at the top of the search results page. A few key parameters worth pointing out are location, investor type, and median deal size.

(Helpful tip: the checkbox to include unknown values is checked by default, unchecking this box will only show filtered results)

  • Save the entire set of results or selected investors to a list and export directly to Excel. Saved lists and previous searches can also be viewed at any time and will not count as a new Raiser run. (For more on list building, see here)

  • You can switch between the tabs at the top to view relevant strategic investors as well as their trading multiples (See here for more on the Investor Comparables tab)
