Finder for Business Development and Procurement Strategies

How can a corporate identify new potential customers? Finder can show you companies that describe themselves similarly to the ones you are currently selling your products and services into.

  1. Enter one or multiple customers by their company name or domain, and you can also add concepts that describe your target market in the Finder search bar. For more information on how to get started, go to Get started using Cyndx Finder.

It will show companies within the same concept in the Companies tab. You will see the concepts tagged to these companies in each company row in the results.

Note: You can adjust the Result Limit to 100, 500 or 1,000.

  2. You can also use the See Similar Companies icon to find companies similar to your customers in two ways:

    1. See similar companies for 1 company: Click on the See Similar Companies icon within that specific company row.

    2. See similar companies for multiple companies: Hover your mouse over the logo of each company, click the checkboxes, and go to Selected Companies. A dropdown will appear where you will see the See Similar Companies option.

Why is Projected to Raise relevant to me as a corporate?

Projected to Raise (P2R) is an indicator that a company will be in need of capital in the next 6-9 months. It is designed to support deal discovery by industry within a crucial window of time.

We often note one of the following significant events within the Projected to Raise space:

  1. The company’s next capital raise in exchange for equity

  2. M&A activity, being a potential acquisition target or ready for an exit conversation

  3. Preparing for IPO or SPAC route

  4. Goes out of business due to the lack of ability to achieve one of the above outcomes

P2R is a complex indicator, algorithmically driven by nearly 80 vectors. We have backtested it and found a 76% accuracy globally and 86% accuracy in the US*, meaning that if we said a company needed capital in the near future, they either raised capital, went public through an IPO, or closed their doors due to a lack of capital.

For additional information, check our P2R whitepaper.

You can save this list to come back to it later.

Understanding a Company's Competitive Landscape and Other Threats

A quick Finder search can help you identify a company's competitors within a specific sector or theme. The 'Companies' tab, after running a regular Finder search, provides a comprehensive market map based on our algorithmic output. Cyndx tracks companies in multiple languages, allowing you to view the competitive landscape in your region and stay aware of potential global threats from competitors.

Two useful features under this are:

  1. Using Finder to analyze the competitive landscape from an operational perspective with Similarity Scores.

From your Finder search results, scores will be shown indicating similarity between your search and company listed, with 100% being the highest or exact match. Depending on the filters of your search, the more likely the results will display a company's competitors.

  2. Identifying companies that own similar patents.

Step 1: You can click on a company name, and a new tab will open, allowing you to view the Company Profile from your search results and navigate to the Patent Filings tab, which will be visible if information is available for that company.

Step 2: View published patents and see who holds similar patents by clicking on Similar Patent Data under Drilldown when available. This will allow you to view a list of Patent Assignees from the single Patent Link.
