Welcome to Company Profile navigation! This FAQ section explains how to search for and view company profiles on the Cyndx platform. You'll learn how to navigate the system, and access key details such as financial data, funding history, industry trends, and growth metrics.

Overview

When you access a company’s profile page, you will find a range of valuable insights and tools to help you analyze the business. Here are some key features available:

Follow Company and get notifications

  • Cyndx notifications allows you to uncover alerts that are taking place in your markets. Keep up to date by following companies in your space. You'll receive notifications on: News events, New Intermediaries, Patents, Products (tied to predictleads), P2R, Events, Acquired a company, Was acquired, Funding Rounds.

Note:

  • If you no longer wish to receive notifications for a specific company, simply unfollow the company by clicking the "Following" button to stop receiving company alerts.

  • If you wish to customize your notifications, learn more here:

Sync company to Salesforce

  • This company profile feature allows users to seamlessly transfer company data from Cyndx into your Salesforce CRM.

Add company to List

  • You can add the company to a new or existing list by clicking 'Add to List.

Print Overview Page

  • You have the option to print each page in any tab you are currently viewing.

What can I see on the overview page?

  • Company Website & Social Media App Links

  • If the company has parent company, you can see here.

  • In the about section, here you can see the basic info of the company. Few important things here are: The total acquisitions the company has made if you are interested in the M&A side, also the Enterprise Value, Revenue Range and Total Funding.


Portfolio Tab

When you access the Portfolio tab, you'll gain insights into a company's investment & M&A activity, including its portfolio composition, deal history, co-investors, and recent transactions. Key features include:

Portfolio highlights

  • Inside Portfolio Highlights, you can view various details such as the company's total portfolio count, its deal range, co-investors, deal history, and the most recent investments made by the company. All of this information may be useful depending on your needs.

Portfolio Companies

Under 'Portfolio Companies,' there are three important tabs:

A. Investment Tab - Inside this tab, you can see all investments made by the company.

  • Closed Date - refers to the date when the investment deal is officially finalized, and the funds are successfully transferred to the target company.

  • Target Company - refers to the business that is raising capital from investors. It is the company receiving funds to support its growth, expansion, product development, or other strategic initiatives.

  • Round Type - refers to the specific stage of funding a company is raising in its growth journey.

  • Amount Funded - refers to the total capital a company has raised during a specific funding round.

  • Post Money Valuation - refers to the estimated value of a company after it has received external funding or investment.

  • Location - refers to the location of the target company.

  • Associate Funds - refers to investment funds that are affiliated with or managed by a particular financial institution, private equity firm, or venture capital firm.

  • Investors - refers to the individuals or institutions that provide capital to a company during a specific stage of fundraising.

B. Acquisition Tab - Inside this tab, you can see all acquisitions made by the company.

  • Announcement Date - the date when an M&A deal is announced.

  • Acquired On Date - the date when an M&A deal is completed.

  • Company Name - the name of the M&A deal target

  • Acquisition Type - the type of M&A deal, which is either strategic or financial.

  • Acquisition Amount - refers to the deal value of the transaction.

  • Target Company Location - the location of the target company.

  • Deal Status - refers to the current status of the deal: Pending or Completed.

  • Advisors (Type) - the type of M&A advisors involved.

  • Details - View the full details of the transaction here.

C. Fairness Opinion - is a professional evaluation, typically conducted by an investment bank or financial advisor, that assesses whether the financial terms of a merger, acquisition, or other corporate transaction are fair from a financial standpoint. It provides an independent, objective analysis to help stakeholders (such as boards of directors or shareholders) make informed decisions. To learn more about Fairness Opinion, click the link here:

  • Document Type - the type of document from which the Fairness Opinion is derived.

  • Acquirers - the name of the M&A deal bidder.

  • Company Name - the name of the M&A deal target.

  • Total Fees - refers to the deal value of the transaction.

  • Advisor - refers to M&A advisors involved.

  • SEC forms - View the SEC filings here.

  • Fairness Opinion Details - View the full details of Fairness Opinion here.

Contacts Tab

When accessing the Contacts tab, users can view key personnel associated with a company. Here are some important things to know:

Board Members

  • This section lists all the directors and board members of the company, along with their emails, bios, and other details.

  • Click the name to be redirected to that contact's details: About the person, Educational Background, Board Membership an work experiences.

  • You can download all contact information using the 'Export' button.

  • Also, next to 'Board Members,' there is an arrow that, when clicked, redirects you to the Explorer dashboard, where all contact details will be automatically available. For more details about the Explorer dashboard, please go here:

Example:

Contacts

  • This section lists all company employees' contacts, along with their emails, job titles, LinkedIn profile links, and other details.

  • You can download all contact information using the 'Export' button.

  • Also, next to 'Contacts,' there is an arrow that, when clicked, redirects you to the Explorer dashboard, where all contact details will be automatically available. For more details about the Explorer dashboard, please go here:


Fundraises Tab

This tab provides insights into a company's past and ongoing fundraising activities. It helps users analyze investment trends, investor participation, and funding history.

Intermediaries Tab

This tab provides insights into the financial advisors, legal advisors, . This tab helps users identify key deal facilitators and assess their role in various transactions.

Relationships Tab

This tab provides insights into how companies, investors, executives, and other entities are interconnected. It helps users understand business relationships, partnerships, funding connections, and ownership structures. This includes: Company and Subsidiaries Relationships, Industry Breakdown, Company-Identified Competitors and Business Relationships.

  • Company and Subsidiaries Relationships - provides a comprehensive view of a company's corporate structure, including its parent company, subsidiaries, and affiliated entities.

  • Industry Breakdown - this feature categorizes companies based on industry segments, sub-sectors, and related fields, offering a more granular view than traditional industry classifications.

  • Company Identified Competitors - provides a curated list of companies that compete within the same industry, market segment, or business model.

  • Business Relationships - provides insights into a company's key connections, including partnerships, investments, acquisitions, and other strategic affiliations.

Financials Tab

This tab provides a comprehensive view of a company's financial health, allowing users to analyze financial performance, valuation, and investment potential.

Quarterly Financials

  • Refers to a company's financial statements and performance metrics reported every quarterly. These reports help investors, analysts, and stakeholders track a company's financial health and trends over time.

Quarterly Income Statement

  • (Also called a Profit & Loss Statement) summarizes a company's revenues, expenses, and profitability over a three-month period (a quarter). It helps investors and analysts evaluate financial performance, profitability trends, and business efficiency.

Quarterly Balance Sheet

  • It provides a snapshot of a company’s financial position at the end of a three-month period (a quarter). It details assets, liabilities, and shareholders’ equity, helping investors and analysts assess financial stability, liquidity, and leverage.

Quarterly Cash Flow

  • It tracks a company's cash inflows and outflows over a three-month period (a quarter). It helps investors and analysts understand how a company generates and spends cash, which is crucial for assessing liquidity, financial health, and overall sustainability.

Patent Filings Tab

This tab provides insights into a company's intellectual property (IP) portfolio, helping investors, analysts, and businesses assess innovation trends, competitive advantages, and technological advancements.

Patent Filings

  • It shows which companies own, co-own, or have rights to specific patents. Useful for understanding strategic partnerships and revenue opportunities.

Note:

  • 'Similar Patent Data' allows you to view patents that share similarities in technology, innovation, or application with a given patent. This feature helps users identify related inventions, competing technologies, and innovation trends within an industry.

  • Clicking the patent link redirects you to the Patent Details page, where you have the option to download it as a PDF.

  • Next to 'Patent Filings,' there is an arrow that, when clicked, redirects you to the Explorer dashboard, where all details in intermediaries will be automatically available. For more details about the Explorer dashboard, please go here:

Patent Categories

  • It displays the classification of patents based on their technology, industry, or application.

  • A CPC (Cooperative Patent Classification) code is a standardized system used to classify patents based on their technology and subject matter. It was jointly developed by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the European Patent Office (EPO) to improve the organization and searchability of patents worldwide.

SEC Filings Tab

This tab provides access to a company's filings, which include financial statements, corporate disclosures, and regulatory compliance documents. These filings help investors, analysts, and businesses assess the company's financial health, risks, and strategic direction.

There are two types of filings available, depending on the company's location.

  1. SEC Filings- regulatory filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). These filings contain financial statements, corporate disclosures, and regulatory compliance documents, helping investors, analysts, and businesses assess a company's financial health, risks, and strategic direction.

  2. Company House filings for the UK- refer to the official records that companies registered in the United Kingdom must submit to Companies House, the government agency responsible for maintaining corporate records. These filings include key financial and legal documents that provide transparency about a company's operations, structure, and financial health.


Notes Tab

This tab allows users to add, manage, and organize notes related to companies, investors, deals, and other entities within the platform. This feature helps users track important insights, reminders, and annotations for future reference, improving collaboration and research efficiency. These notes will be viewed within your organization only.

  1. Under the Overview tab, there is an option to 'Add Notes.'

  2. You can then find it under the 'Notes' tab:
