How to create a 409A valuation

A 409A is an independent appraisal of the fair market value of a company's common stock reserved for founders and employees. This valuation is required by IRS Section 409A and determines the cost to purchase a share.

Navigate to the 409A Valuation page

  1. Sign in to Cyndx and go to the Owner tab

  2. On the left-hand navigation bar, click the Compliance drop down

  3. From the drop down menu, click on 409A option


Create a 409A Valuation

  1. From here, click the option to Start Valuation

  2. This will take you directly to the site of our 409A partner, Sharp 409A, to get started with your valuation.

  3. Once you have completed your 409A, you are ready to upload it to Owner.
